Beyonce Knowles has caused a frenzy on the Internet as 2011 is drawing near to a close. Words flooded the Twitterverse on Friday, December 30 morning claiming that the "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" hitmaker has given birth to her first child with music mogul husband Jay-Z in New York City.
Speculations about Queen Bey's impending labor began on Wednesday, December 28 when MediaTakeOut brought out claims that two nurses at St. Luke's Roosevelt said that the medical facility is preparing for a "celebrity VIP", who was said to be the R&B singer. It was further said that she has reserved half of the "luxury labor and delivery floor".
The rumors grew even larger after it was suggested that the "Countdown" singer has checked into the hospital on Manhattan's Upper West Side. On Friday, words came out that she has actually delivered the baby. One report even claimed that the powerhouse couple named the baby girl, Tiana-May Carter, after Disney's first black princess, Tiana, in "The Princess and the Frog".
Queen Bey announced her pregnancy at this year's MTV Video Music Awards back in August. Proving that fans' expectation is high, the announcement made the R&B diva a worldwide trending topic on Twitter, setting a record of 8,868 tweets per second. During an ABC interview with Katie Couric, she said she "just felt free" after making the announcement.
"I really did, because I'd been holding the most exciting thing in for so long, and I just felt like, 'Wow, now I can enjoy and now I can just experience this the way that every woman should,' " she explained. "I felt like, 'Oh, I can breathe and be happy. It was a beautiful feeling. ... I went straight off the stage and cried. I hugged my mom, I hugged Jay and just cried. It was a beautiful day."
