Rocker Rod Stewart's ex-wife model Rachel Hunter has slammed singer Beyonce Knowles for shattering the hopes and aspirations of young girls who dream of becoming successful models.
Hunter, while claiming that the 1980s generation of high profile supermodels is over, also fears for the future of aspiring young models who want to make it big like Naomi Campbell or Cindy Crawford. The 'Sports Illustrated' model asserted that the efforts and hardwork of numerous young talented girls were being overshadowed by film and music celebrities like Knowles.
"For years now we have seen people on the covers of magazines that aren't models, they are actresses and it's disappointing. Sports Illustrated this year had Beyonce Knowles on the cover. What's left for young girls to aspire to if they want to be models? Not much!" Contactmusic quoted her, as telling Australian newspaper The Daily Telegraph.
Hunter, 37, has dated pop heartthrob Robbie Williams and Puddle of Mudd's lead singer Wes Scantlin in the past, and recently divorced singer Rod Stewart after nine years of marriage, but says the split has definitely not put her off rockers.
